Adobe Indesign Event Program Template

Adobe InDesign is the premiere layout tool for various electronic and print publications, designs, artifacts, interactive PDFs, forms, and other contents. This session introduces how to get started with InDesign (part of the Adobe Creative Cloud) by setting up workspace, beginning a publication, placing text and imagery, and exporting a file in the proper format.

When InDesign CS5 shipped, one of the most common complaints we heard was “where are all those free templates that used to come with the program?” Adobe had discarded them from InDesign and the Creative Suite. Perhaps they were hard to update? Perhaps it was some economic or logistical decision? We really don’t know. Create the Program in Adobe InDesign With the help of a powerful desktop processing and typesetting application, you can start creating the design of your program. After launching Adobe InDesign and starting a new project, you'll be given the option of whether or not to use a preset or template.

InDesign also has a cloud-based aspect for publishing to the Web (and file-sharing for feedback).

This session is scheduled from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20 on Zoom at this link. (The link will not be live until the event.)

  1. Pick a size and shape

On your dashboard, the “My Projects” screen offers a variety of wedding program templates to choose from with dimensions suitable for different projects such as brochures, social media posts, or programs. Select one that fits your plans. Once you’ve saved your design, Adobe Spark can re-size it for different uses.

  2. Choose a theme

From your project screen, select “Themes” and make a choice from the gallery of free and paid themes that appears. Don’t like the theme you picked? You can change it whenever you want.

  3. Tell a story with images

Your chosen theme comes with a background image, color, or texture, but you can replace it if you like. Browse Adobe Spark’s gallery of free and premium photographs and other background fills or upload an image of your own.

  4. Describe with engaging text

To add text to your design, select “Text” and type your text into the editable text box. Change the font style, size, and color by highlighting the text and selecting from the options that appear.

  5. Download, share, or print

When your design is done, save it and select Spark Post’s Publish and Share option from your dashboard. Spark generates a unique link for sharing or embedding your project on a web page. You can also download it for printing.
